Vice President for Student Success

Welcome home, Bobcats!
I want to begin by congratulating you on reaching this moment and all of the effort it took to get here. You have taken a life-changing step and selected a university that will challenge, inspire, and support you as you build your new life here.
As a freshman, I watched the then Student Body President speak to 8,000 students at Jumpstart. I briefly wondered if maybe that could be me one day. It seemed impossible, but two years and hundreds of yeses later, it became my reality.
I said yes to Freshman Council, where strangers became my best friends. Student Government went from being just an organization to a family, giving me a network and a support system that ultimately pushed me to run for President.
The best advice I can give you is this: say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. Even if it scares you. Even if it feels impossible. You never know which moment might become a defining chapter in your story. Invest in your campus community, as it will elevate the experiences you can have here tenfold.
Your Student Government is here to support you throughout this chapter. Our office is located in LBJ room 428, and our senate meetings are held every Monday at 7 pm in LBJ 322. I encourage all of you to attend so that you can hear about what is going on at our university and have a role in making a positive and lasting impact on our campus.
States up,
Abby Myers
Student Body President
